Rock Party Of The Year is an initiative by singer Robert Soeterboek (Ayreon, Star One, Plan Nine). It is a rock show that takes us back to the classic rock songs of our youth. For these special events, he invites fellow artists to join him on stage and create an unforgettable show together.
Over the years, guests have included Judas Priest drummer Les Binks, Sweet singer Paul Manzi, Thunder guitarist Luke Morley, Saxon guitarist Paul Quinn, and many others, all backed by a group of talented musicians.
Now that Robert Soeterboek and his band Plan Nine will be performing at KafeK on Friday, May 21, the idea was born to stage a Rock Party Of The Year show on Saturday, May 22. The show will run for approximately two and a half hours and promises to be a celebration of classic rock.
For this edition, Robert has invited Norwegian vocalists Nils K. Rue (Pagan’s Mind, Lex Legion) and Ole Aleksander Wagenius (Wagenius) to take part in the show. Both responded enthusiastically. In addition, Ayreon and Plan Nine singer Irene Jansen will perform several solo songs, as will her Plan Nine colleague Jane Goulding.
It promises to be a fantastic evening, and there may even be another special guest appearing as a surprise.
The result is a true Rock Weekend at KafeK. Make sure you’re there, because this is an event you definitely don’t want to miss!
